Preston's Honor Review

B L U R B

There were two brothers—identical twins—and though I loved them both, my soul belonged to only one. Annalia Del Valle has loved Preston Sawyer all her life. The daughter of an impoverished migrant farmworker, she grew up as an outcast in what was no more than a tiny, cooped up shack in California’s Central Valley. But her heart found freedom in the land, in the wide-open spaces of Sawyer Farm, and in the boys who were her only friends. Preston has yearned for Annalia since he was a boy. But a sense of honor kept him from pursuing her until he’s unable to hold back any longer and their worlds—and bodies—collide one hot summer night. A night that sets off a chain of events that will alter their lives forever. Now Annalia is back in town after disappearing without a trace for six long months. Determined to reclaim her heart, her life, and the baby she left behind—the son who was created in a moment of lust and love and pent-up yearning. Preston has survived grief, a ravaging drought, and the despair of heartache, but he’s not sure he can survive Annalia again. And he might be unwilling to try. Will pride and bitterness keep him from the one thing he’s always longed for? How do you heal what is irreparably broken? How do you forgive that which is unforgivable? How do you discover that real honor comes not from circumstance, but from the place deep in our hearts where truth resides? And how do you move beyond the wounds of the past to discover that some loves are as solid as the ground beneath your feet, and as enduring as the earth itself?

Jazmin's Review

★★★★★ 5 BEAUTIFUL stars Preston's Honor is simply amazing. If you're a follower of Mia Sheridan, you know she writes amazing books and Preston's Honor was no exception. Words can't even express how much I loved this book. But one thing for sure is that I know my feelings, and what I felt for this book went beyond. I'm afraid nothing could ever top my favorite book, Archer's book, but Preston's Honor was pretty close. Mia Sheridan knows how to write books that will make you feel every emotion with her words and boy did she hit right on the feels. Lia was born with the short end of the stick. All of her life she has known nothing but poverty. Although she doesn't have what many other might, she doesn't let that break her. Instead she keeps going and deals with whatever she still has left. She's a very kind person who doesn't complain and the Sawyer boys saw that in her even as kids and befriend her. So please keep an open mind going in because although she does something that many will find unforgivable, she does have a reason behind it. Preston. Be still my beating heart. Sawyer has a silent, and serious but kind personality which steals my heart immediately. He cares too much for his brother and although he loves Lia from the moment he meets her, he will put his brother and his honor before everything including himself. Because of that, it cause for a series of things to go unsaid that ends up hurting Lia and himself. Preston's Honor is a book filled with passion and emotion it fills my heart. I loved everything in this book including the fact that Mia adds real life situations that makes you remember not to take everything you have for granted. Many people have so much less and have lost so much more, but they still continue to work hard for their loved ones. This books is a must, MUST read.
